A Timely Painting Grabs Attention - Carey Price more popular than beer.

Earlier this week I posted my new painting, 'Target Legacy', an homage to the Habs goal tending legacy and art history. The painting got over 1600 views on Facebook in just one day, in part because of a very loyal group of hockey fans whose passions run as deep about their iconic hockey club as they do about their love of art and culture. A couple days later, partly due to the influx of questions, comments and views of the piece, I decided to post a video of the process of creating the piece. In just three days the video has been viewed over 700 times.  It has been a fascinating experiment for me, this piece which joins my body of work titled #ICONICCANUCK, was created out of a love for Canada and for art history. Through painting this body of work I have found that the paintings that touch on Canada's hockey legacy, presented against art history, have had an unexpected effect. I will not elaborate here now, but I am recording it all as the story continues to unfold, and look forward to continuing this body of work and experiment at the crossroads of sport and art aficionados. More to come...

A big thank you to all the people who have responded about the piece through Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Tumblr, Vimeo, Instagram and good old email. Here are a couple features that popped up on the Internet, including a nod from my good friends at AllHabs Magazine who did the original interview with me about my goalie mask painting in 2012.
